Other things of note about my time in Korea

PSP

To help fill up the fun bar I sold a few things on ebay that would only be in storage back home and invested in a PSP and a dozen or so game! Given its multimedia offerings it has done me well so far and has certainly been one of my more shrewd acquisitions in life and is perfect for travel, can't argue with a portable PS2!!! Books I'm reading (see archive)

Currently: Galaxy in Flames
The third Horus Heresy novel is, well not as good as the other two. The dialogue is poor and I am spurned to read more from interst than enjoyment. The depth of the 40k background provides a steady fall-back for the third different author in the series, so it jsut about carries.

Currently: Living and Surviving in South Korea
This is certainly one of the more insightful reads I have read thus far and seems to balance living in Korea with valid reflections. Rather than being anecdotal and aimed at ethnic Koreans it seems to strike to the informative point rather than bore you with someones one self-hype.

Some notable reads whilst being in Korea
Horus Rising - I've always found the Black Library to offer nothing more than fan fiction, and sometimes its been quite good, but of the dozen or so novels I've read none have been truly recommendable. Until this! Dan Abnett has an impressive sci-fi writing CV that has transferred here and provided and touching and intriguing look at the rise of one of 40k's most iconic characters Warmaster Horus. Told through the eyes of tenth company captain Loken this is brilliant sci-fi, all the apprehensions I had about this being good vs evil fan tripe were soon washed aside by an excellent, well thought out novel, that caters in intrigue and development rather than tired battle scenes, and deserves not just a place in the 40k fans mind, but for all those who love good storytelling.
